Reflection 10
Martin Rivas
“What I am going to do?” “How can I start an essay of new media?” These questions were ones of the hundreds of thousands I did in front a white page on my laptop. My first move in this project was to read at least 5 articles full of nutritive information. Then I finish the pre-write that lead me to the same white page of word with 0 words out of 1000. I started to make a simple introduction and then in the body paragraphs I introduced the best 3 articles I found. At the end of the essay I made a simple conclusion that take me like 30 minutes to put it up all, at the end, near 5 hours of wok took me to finish this work. I put many effort in this project because I needed to think in something interesting to say and I needed to manage the ideas and organize them so I won’t be confusing for the reader.
At the end, I found something that no one is conscience in this moment. Internet manage our daily lives and the world, no one can live without internet. With this essay I learn a lot of new media, at the end it was very clear what is internet doing in our life and in what is helping the society to grow and to improve. The essay and the new media presentation helped me a lot because the information repeated so many times in my head that all of the information stayed in my brain. I really liked the idea of Ms. Bachelor of making both different projects because at the end we can see the results.
These two projects helped me to see the difference of doing a formal presentation or a creative presentation like the Powtoon. One main difference is the way you use the information, in the essay you need to put everything and you need to describe everything you read or know, in the video the information if shown more explicitly and is shown the main point, most of the causes in the videos there is not to be long paragraphs. For me I liked more the video because I am a very creative person and with this video I could open my imagination and my knowledge to create an awesome presentation.
Explaining the new media theme in a word page has no humor or interesting part, but explaining it on an interactive presentation using the same new media shows not only interest but it show the usage of it in the scholar zone. I do think that with the video people can take more information than reading an article, because one of my articles explained that in the present people don’t read everything they scan and take the important parts. But with this presentation they will take 100% of the information shown by me. In conclusion the projects were very important because it explain the present situation and I could experience doing two different presentations with the same topic.
